Jonathan Clifford is the Director of National Security for the Information Technology Alliance for the Public Sector (ITAPS), a division of ITI, where he works to build policy consensus between business, the Department of Defense, and the intelligence community regarding information technology system procurement and utilization, force structure, authorities, and other pressing issues facing our national defense as it relates to the cyber domain.
Previously, Jonathan served as the Senior Policy Advisor to Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo where he mainly focused on the Congressman’s work as a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC) and as Chairman of the Central Intelligence Subcommittee on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI). During Jonathan’s time on Capitol Hill, he ensured a classified, critical capability gap was fulfilled under a Joint Urgent Operational Need (JUON), restored force cuts in cyber protection team (CPT) funding and authority, and made many other notable policy achievements in multiple National Defense Authorization Acts and Intelligence Authorization Acts. Prior to his time with Congressman LoBiondo, Jonathan also served as a legislative aide to Congressman Jon Runyan.
Jonathan proudly serves as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve and as a firefighter with the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Jonathan received his Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University in 2011 with a degree in Government and International Politics and originally hails from Moorestown, New Jersey.
